Ladies and Gentlemen it’s that time of year again! Some avoid it, some bathe in the festivities, some go out, some stay in and some get married. Yes, we’re talking about the one and only day of never-ending showcases of love and affection – Valentine’s Day! As we mentioned, some couples get hitched in the ultimate season of romance, but you may be wondering how to get it done without drowning your guests (and yourselves) in red, pink, roses and an overload of love. We’re here to give you a few tips of the trade on how to throw a Valentine’s wedding without overdoing it.
Let’s talk colors…
Instead of drowning the venue in an ocean of pink flowers a good palette to try is ivory with touches of blush. Weddings are filled with love regardless, but if you want you wedding to reflect the season then a little blush is the way to go. To us it says “subtle romance”. Another option for reflecting Valentine’s Day is to add some variety to the palette by choosing different shades of purples.
Don’t forget the drinks…
We have taken the liberty of digging up some lovely drink options for your special day featuring Cascade Ice Waters. We hope you enjoy these!
Love Potion Pizzazz:
To mix up the irresistible potion, mix 2 oz of Cascade Ice’s Pomegranate Berry with 1 oz of vodka. Add a garnish of fresh cherries and you’re ready to go!
Passion Pucker-Up Cocktail:
Mix up this tantalizing drink by pouring 1.5 oz of tequila and 3 oz of Cascade Ice Black Raspberry over crushed ice into your mixer. Next, add the juice of a lime wedge and a handful of raspberries. Garnish the cocktail with an orange wedge and serve!
Blushing Sparkler:
Mix 1 oz of whipped vodka, 4 oz of Cascade Ice Pink Grapefruit, the juice of a lemon wedge and a handful of ice in a mixer. Pour the cocktail into a chilled glass and garnish with lemon wedges.
Décor matters…
Your wedding day is the time to express your love to your significant other not only with words, but also with décor. This can be done in a variety of ways including, but certainly not limited to: showcasing pictures of the newlyweds (pictures from the engagement, first dates, in-the-moment selfies, etc.), writing a “love timeline” for the guests or showcasing your favorite gifts that were exchanged at the beginning of the relationship, which could be done using a shadow box and serve as a keepsake at home after the wedding.
The point is that you don’t have to plaster the venue with hearts and silhouettes of cupid to fill the room with love because the love for your significant other can speak for itself regardless if you hold your wedding around Valentine’s Day or not. Happy hitchin’!
