An Intimate Woods Themed Wedding

Raquel + John first met in Kentucky while they were performing Romeo and Juliet at The Kentucky Opera together. A couple of months later when they got engaged (with tattoos on their ring fingers!), they decided it only seemed right to return back to where it all began.

They were married in Red River Gorge, a national forest in Kentucky. The venue was gorgeous and natural landscape took care of all the décor… we just added an isle runner for a personalized touch. The guest count included 25 of the bride and groom’s dearest family and the groom’s little sister played the violin as Raquel processed down the isle in a Galia Lahav gown and custom-made Galia Lahav veil. Guests of Raquel + John stood in awe as they both recited their vows. The intimacy of the forest matched their love for each other making it the perfect ceremony. After, the wedding party and guests had a multi-course dinner at A La Lucie in Lexington, Kentucky where they cut a “naked” wedding cake and listened to toasts.

Because not all friends and family could make it to Kentucky… Raquel + John decided the fun shouldn’t stop there and had a reception at The Hyatt Market Street in The Woodlands, Texas. They carried their woodsy theme all the way back to Texas. The ballroom was decorated with one 42 foot long head table lined with floral by Blooming Gallery and linens by Over The Top Linens. The cake, provided by Cakes By Gina, stood three tiers tall and resembled a tree with “R+J” etched in the middle.

Both events were a great success and En Vogue Events would like to congratulate the newly weds!
